Say hello to the Monforts dyeing specialist during ITA

During the Innovate Textile & Apparel virtual textile machinery show (ITA), which opened on October 15th and is running until October 30th at ita.wtin.com, Monforts textile technologist Jonas Beisel has already had many interesting discussions with customers on the economic dyeing of fabrics.

“Our customers are increasingly looking at shorter production runs and the more economical use of dyestuffs, as well as reducing water and energy consumption,” he says. “We have gained many years of experience in the optimisation of recipes through working with our customers, both at their own plants and in our Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) in Mönchengladbach.

“Our Thermex universal hotflue for continuous dyeing, curing and thermosoling achieves unrivalled reliability even at maximum fabric speeds, for exceptional cost-effectiveness when dyeing both large and small batches of woven fabrics. The Econtrol® process* for reactive dyestuffs now has an impressive number of references on the market, as a quick and economical one-pass pad-dry and wash off process, with drying in the hot flue at 120-130°C and controlled humidity (25-30% by volume) to obtain fixation in 2-3 minutes.”

Among the benefits, he adds, are the excellent reproducibility of all colours, improved dye penetration on difficult fabrics and no risk of the browning of cotton or other cellulose fibres due to the low fixation temperature.

“This is the ideal process for fast change technology and operational savings,” Jonas says.

Monforts ATC

The Monforts Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) is fully operational for industrial-scale trials which go beyond lab or pilot plant testing to be run on behalf of customers.

“We have our experts on hand to help our customers to rapidly transition to any improved finishing techniques and treatments they may be thinking of introducing, and to run trials on their behalf, should they require this assistance and not able to visit us,” says Jonas. “We can rapidly identify and solve any problems that might otherwise occur once full production is underway.”

Since its opening in 2013, over €3 million has been invested in equipment at the Monforts ATC, which over an area of 1,200 square metres houses two full finishing lines, engineered to accommodate an extremely diverse range of processes and based around the industry-leading Montex stenter including high temperature and split temperature fabric treatment, in addition to a Thermex range for the continuous dyeing and the newly developed process of yarn dyeing. Recent expansions have included the installation of the latest Monforts Montex®Coat coating system, with which it is possible to operate in seven different application modes on a single machine.

The Monforts teleservice team is also fully available as normal to help customers via remote service on trouble shooting issues.

“There’s a lot we can achieve even if meeting face-to-face is not possible at the moment,” Jonas says. “Let’s talk!”
